Introduction to Consultation
Consultation is our way of involving residents and stakeholders across Central Lancashire in the work we do when planning the future for our area, allowing you to have an input in how the plan is shaped through your opinions, site submissions or formal representations.
Call for Sites
The Call for Sites are the initial public consultation for the Central Lancashire Local Plan. Organisations or the public were asked to submit sites they wish to see allocated for all types of development or for protection, from adoption in 2020 until 2036.
A third round of Call for Sites will enable us to give residents and stakeholders the opportunity to submit more smaller housing sites of up to five dwellings as well employment sites (especially brownfield), both of which were few in number during the first two rounds of Call for Sites consultation and both of which are integral to ensuring a robust and future proof Local Plan for Central Lancashire, one that provides sufficient places for residents to work and live.
Statement of Community Involvement
Please see each authority’s respective Statement of Community Involvement, which outlines how we undertake consultations and how these are publicised to ensure we reach as many people, organisations and businesses as possible:
In line with the statement of Community Involvement, for each consultation we will consult via the below channels:
Digital Notices
Each council will post notice of the Call for Sites consultation in local press and on social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook, the website is the central point of information to coincide with the consultation process and for the wider Local Plan Review thereafter.
Chorley Council in partnership with Citizens Advice runs a number of free digital access sessions for residents who would like assistance in completing online forms, including our Call for Sites Form. If you or a resident you know would like to access this service, you can see their poster for more information.
Digital Access services are also available from Chorley Council directly, see their information leaflet for more details.
Public Notices
Below is a distribution list of where we will post public notice posters and paper copies of consultation forms. These will be either on display or accessible on request behind-the-counter for a given consultation period, from open until close. If you are aware of a notice that is missing, or of a location in which notices ought to be, please contact us.
